A new doorway...and more bamboo flooring...

So we decided that we wanted to open up the wall into the larger living from....here is it framed in, and after we got some flooring down..

The strand woven carbonized bamboo is a very hard and dense material, this is good and bad. It's good because it stands up to wear, but its bad because it makes it hard to work with if you're not prepared. Make sure to keep all your tools sharp, and run your nailer on the highest pressure it will take, and you should be OK. Treat it more like a ceramic than a wood as a rule of thumb, for example if you hit it too hard on the end "grain" you can shatter the finish like fiberglass, it won't just dent like a traditional hardwood (oak, maple etc).
